After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Avella, Carmichaels was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over the West Greene Pioneers. The Mighty Mikes haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Connor Lapana was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Jordan Davis was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Carmichaels hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Carmichaels' win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for West Greene, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-15.
Carmichaels will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pioneers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
