Softball Recap: North Gaston Wildcats vs. Ashbrook Greenwave
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Highland Tech, North Gaston was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Ashbrook Greenwave a 14-0 shutout. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wildcats' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Parker Gordon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Gordon was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Layla Love was a standout: she scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. That run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Smith, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
