Basketball Game Preview: Nooksack Valley Pioneers vs. Meridian Trojans

The Nooksack Valley Pioneers will face off against the Meridian Trojans at 5:40 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Nooksack Valley will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Burlington-Edison, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Nooksack Valley managed a 51-46 victory over Burlington-Edison on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.

Meanwhile, Meridian hadn't done well against Anacortes recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Meridian walked away with a 57-46 win over Anacortes.

Nooksack Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Meridian, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Nooksack Valley couldn't quite finish off Meridian in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 67-65. Can Nooksack Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
