Wyoming Area is a perfect 5-0 against MMI Preparatory School since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Warriors will be playing at home against MMI Preparatory School at 4:15 p.m. Wyoming Area is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Wyoming Area got the win against Greater Nanticoke Area by a conclusive 15-3. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.
Alexa Gasek was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Addison Gaylord was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and two RBI. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Allison Layland was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Wyoming Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, MMI Preparatory School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 17-0 to Lake-Lehman, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Wyoming Area pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for MMI Preparatory School, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
Wyoming Area took their win against MMI Preparatory School in their previous matchup on April 9th by a conclusive 17-0 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will MMI Preparatory School turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
