 Logan County is 7-1 against Hopkinsville since April of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Friday. The Logan County Cougars will head out on the road to  square off against  the Hopkinsville Tigers at 5:30  p.m. The  squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Logan County has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Hopkinsville will arrive with six straight  wins.
 Logan County fought the good fight in their extra-innings  game against Greenwood  on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of  10-9.
 Logan County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Brady Hinton, who  went 2-for-3 with a  home run and three  runs.  Noah Mosley was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Hopkinsville scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Monday. They were the clear victor by  a  19-4 margin over Trigg County. With that  victory, Hopkinsville brought their scoring average up to 8.6  runs per game.
  Gavin Mitchell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching four innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits. Mitchell was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs while going 3-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Dylan Sweeney was a standout: he went 3-for-3 with seven  RBI, four  runs,  and a  double. Another player making a difference was  JJ Thompson, who  scored four  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 Logan County's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Hopkinsville, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with that  win, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Logan County beat Hopkinsville 10-5  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Logan County since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
