Recap: Central Tigers vs. New Madrid County Central Eagles

The Central Tigers were the 75-54 winner over the New Madrid County Central Eagles when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Central took a 64-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Madrid County Central on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while New Madrid County Central is ranked third).

Jadis Jones was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds for New Madrid County Central. That makes it five consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least 25% of New Madrid County Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ra'Mond Brooks, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Central and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for New Madrid County Central, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Central will be home for the holidays to greet Farmington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. New Madrid County Central will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Sikeston at 8:30 p.m. on December 8th. One thing working in Sikeston's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
