Football Game Preview: East Davidson Golden Eagles vs. Thomasville Bulldogs

The East Davidson Golden Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Thomasville Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Davidson has given up an average of 30 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, East Davidson ended up a good deal behind Providence Grove and lost 32-14. The Golden Eagles haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Meanwhile, while Thomasville put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Trinity. Thomasville breezed past Trinity to the tune of 44-0. That looming 44-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Thomasville yet this season.

Thomasville found their leader in sophomore Quintin Brunson, who rushed for 68 yards on only eight carries, and also caught one score.

Thomasville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 367 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 329 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Thomasville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.8 points on average over those games. As for East Davidson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

East Davidson took a serious blow against Thomasville in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 35-7. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
