The Nazareth Area Blue Eagles will challenge the Emmaus Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Nazareth Area comes in on three and Emmaus on five.
On Thursday, Nazareth Area sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Pleasant Valley.
Nazareth Area was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (98-96), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 25-20, 15-25, 25-16, 16-25, 15-12.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Emmaus rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top against the Hurricanes by a score of 3-1.
Emmaus got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 31-29, 25-21, 24-26, 25-22.
Nazareth Area better keep an eye on Haley Seidel. She was instrumental in Emmaus' win, getting 14 digs and two aces. What's more, Seidel posted two assists, the most she's had over her last six matches. Claudia Walls also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.
Nazareth Area now has a winning record of 11-10-1. As for Emmaus, their victory bumped their record up to 28-4-2.
Nazareth Area came up short against Emmaus in their previous matchup back in August, falling 2-0. Can the Blue Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
