Basketball Recap: Clayton Comes Up Short

After flying high against Des Moines last Saturday, Clayton came back down to earth. The Clayton Yellowjackets took a 73-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cimarron Rams on Friday. The Yellowjackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 52-44.

Clayton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Cimarron, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clayton will challenge Santa Rosa at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Santa Rosa's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for Cimarron, they will take on Springer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
