Baseball Game Preview: Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies vs. South Bend Washington Panthers

The Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies will face off against the South Bend Washington Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Plymouth took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past Tippecanoe Valley 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pilgrims/Rockies have posted since May 6th.

Aiden Landis looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Plymouth saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Wolfe, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when South Bend Washington took on 21st Century Charter on Saturday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 12-5 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

Plymouth's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for South Bend Washington, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.

Plymouth skirted past South Bend Washington 3-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2015. Will the Pilgrims/Rockies repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
