Softball Recap: Palestine Comes Up Short

Palestine was the 10-8 winner over Madisonville when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. Palestine fell 12-9 to Madisonville on Friday.

Samantha Grogans was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Shelby Hughes also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Palestine's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-9-1. As for Madisonville, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palestine will face off against Rusk at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Rusk will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Palestine surely won't give up without a fight. As for Madisonville, they will take on Hudson at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
