Basketball Recap: Somerset Academy - Canyons Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Somerset Academy - Canyons kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 66-32 loss at the hands of the Tradition Prep Pirates. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tradition Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan Chevres, who went 8-for-19 to rack up 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydan Harris, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 13 points and eight boards.

Coming up, Somerset Academy - Canyons will challenge Leonard at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tradition Prep, they and Oxbridge Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest, having both just played.
