St. Michael came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the El Capitan Eagles by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 on Saturday.

St. Michael had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-21.

Alana Yazzie paced St. Michael's offense, picking up 16 kills. Yazzie got some help from Hayden Roan and her 24 assists. Yazzie was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

St. Michael's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for El Capitan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-7.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, St. Michael and Grand Canyon will shake off the rust and duke it out at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for El Capitan, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Water Canyon at 5:00 p.m. on the 14th.
