Basketball Recap: Sykiah Lancaster Key Part of Team Effort in Rams Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Craven, Greene Central was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 48-35 win over the Farmville Central Jaguars. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Jaguars back in January, they had to take a 47-45 loss.

Greene Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sykiah Lancaster, who posted 18 points. The dominant performance also gave Lancaster a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%). An'nysha Wooten was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Greene Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Farmville Central only posted one assist.

When it comes to explaining why Farmville Central lost, don't look at Madison Denham. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with ten points and 15 boards. Another player making a difference was Ari'Yannah Brooks, who put up nine points.

The win got Greene Central back to even at 10-10. As for Farmville Central, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
