Baseball Recap: Kermit Comes Up Short

If Kermit was feeling good fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Tornillo last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellow Jackets fell 13-10 to the Anthony Wildcats on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 16-14.

Gabriel Lujan was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Sergio Quiroz, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Kermit's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 8-9. As for Anthony, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-12-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Kermit and Anthony will both be playing Presidio the next time they take the field. The Yellow Jackets will host the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
