Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Brillion

Brillion hadn't done well against New Holstein recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Lions came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 8-5. The victory was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Grace Krueger was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Krueger was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Carter Miller was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run. Jana O'Connell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Brillion kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive contests.

Brillion's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for New Holstein, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7.

Brillion wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-0 win against Reedsville on the 22nd. As for New Holstein, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-2 defeat against Lomira on the 22nd.
