Soccer Game Preview: Blue Springs South vs. Battle

The Blue Springs South Jaguars will venture away from home to take on the Battle Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Blue Springs South has six straight wins, Battle has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Blue Springs South can't be too worried about heading out to take on Battle: they just beat Liberty North at home, who had been dominant on their own pitch up to that point. The Jaguars' defense stepped up to hand the Eagles a 2-0 shutout on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Battle fell victim to Kirksville and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 8-0 to the Tigers. That's two games in a row now that Battle have lost by exactly eight goals.

Blue Springs South pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those six matchups. As for Battle, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.

Blue Springs South took their victory against Battle in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
