Basketball Game Preview: Kickapoo Chiefs vs. Lebanon Yellowjackets

Kickapoo is 9-1 against Lebanon since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Chiefs will host the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kickapoo has nine straight victories, Lebanon has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Kickapoo is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Republic: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Chiefs blew the Tigers out of the water with a 59-26 final score. The Chiefs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Kickapoo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but William Winn led the charge by as he made all 5 shots he took racking up 10 points and three steals. Those three steals gave Winn a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Nabors, who shot 83% from the field en route to 10 points.

Lebanon had taken Waynesville down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 49-46.

Kickapoo's win bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Lebanon, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.

Everything came up roses for Kickapoo against Lebanon when the teams last played back in February of 2025, as the team secured a 92-57 victory. Will the Chiefs repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
