Softball Game Preview: Arlington Memorial Eagles vs. Windsor Yellowjackets

The Arlington Memorial Eagles will square off against the Windsor Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Arlington Memorial has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Windsor will arrive with three straight wins.

Arlington Memorial came up short against Mill River on Friday, falling 33-8.

Meanwhile, Windsor faced Proctor in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Yellowjackets walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Phantoms.

Molly Burke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Windsor got a big performance out of Olivia Roberts, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Roberts is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Cadence Dougher, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Windsor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Windsor's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Arlington Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
