Basketball Recap: Redlands East Valley Skates Past Beaumont with Ease

There's no place like home for Redlands East Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 86-53 victory over the Beaumont Cougars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 53-45 on January 14th.

Redlands East Valley was led to victory by Dariel Bahamontes and Demaj Moore. Bahamontes dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds, while Moore went 9 for 16 en route to 22 points and six boards. Bahamontes' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mason Young, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 15 points.

Redlands East Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Redlands East Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-13 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 0% in those games and 30.3% outside of them. As for Beaumont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.
