Baseball Recap: Jamestown Comes Up Short

Jamestown suffered their biggest loss since May 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Nansemond River Warriors, falling 11-1. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in April of 2015.

This is the second loss in a row for Jamestown and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Nansemond River, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Looking ahead, Jamestown will venture away from home to square off against Warhill at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.83 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Nansemond River, they will be playing at home against Deep Creek at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.5 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
