Preview: Bryan Bears vs. Westview
The Bryan Bears will head out on the road to challenge Westview at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Bryan comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 11 points in their last 17 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
On Tuesday, Bryan had to suffer through a rough 50-8 loss at the hands of Gretna. Bryan was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-4.
Westview lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They were dealt a 62-33 loss at the hands of Millard West. While losing is never fun, Westview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Millard West is ranked third).
Bryan dropped their record down to 0-17 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 4.5 points per game. As for Westview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.
