Basketball Recap: Walsh Jesuit Comes Up Short

Walsh Jesuit lost against Ellet back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Walsh Jesuit Warriors had to suffer through a 54-25 loss at the hands of the Ellet Orangemen. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-13.

Despite the defeat, Walsh Jesuit had strong showings from Maddie Parker, who posted seven points and seven rebounds, and Josii Webb, who had ten points. Another player making a difference was Kami Digennaro, who put up three points and seven rebounds.

Caitlyn Holmes continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ellet, dropping a triple-double on 11 points, ten boards, and 13 steals. What's more, Holmes also racked up eight assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Jaeda Tavares was another key player, going 6 of 10 on her way to 17 points.

Walsh Jesuit dropped their record down to 6-5 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Ellet, their record now sits at 9-2.

Walsh Jesuit will venture away from home to challenge Wooster at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. As for Ellet, they will host Laurel at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Ellet is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.9 points per game this season.
