Dom Jex posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He is becoming a predictor of Salem Hills's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 1-7 when he doesn't).

Jex's strong effort led Salem Hills over Orem and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
