At the plate, the team relied heavily on Crew Christensen, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Fillmore, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.
Desert Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Virgin Valley got the win against Mojave on Wednesday by a conclusive 17-2. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Rattlers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Cade Litzenberger made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Litzenberger was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Koby Perry was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Virgin Valley's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-0-1 (and 7-8 when he doesn't). Krew Perry was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Desert Hills pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Virgin Valley, their record is now 13-8-1.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Desert Hills hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .382. However, it's not like Virgin Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
