Softball Recap: Peak to Peak Pumas vs. Jefferson Academy Jaguars
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Forge Christian, Peak to Peak was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Jefferson Academy Jaguars a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Pumas, who have now won nine contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Maggie Wallis was incredible, going 2-for-2 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Trasky, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Peak to Peak always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson Academy only posted an OBP of .273.
Peak to Peak's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 13-7. As for Jefferson Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing The Academy the next time they take the field. Jefferson Academy will head out to face The Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, while Peak to Peak will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
