Soccer Game Preview: Newfound Regional vs. Hopkinton

The Newfound Regional Bears will head out to face off against the Hopkinton Hawks at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Newfound Regional has given up an average of 3.4 goals per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Newfound Regional is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight matches on Thursday. They lost 9-0 to Trinity.

Meanwhile, Hopkinton faced Manchester West in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Hopkinton's first draw of the season.

Newfound Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6-2. With that draw, Hopkinton's record moves to 6-2-1.

Newfound Regional might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Hopkinton in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
