Basketball Recap: Buna Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Buna had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They managed a 39-35 win over the Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Buna got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamryn Jurik out in front who posted nine points and four steals. Jurik has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Kaleigh Humble was another key player, putting up six points and seven rebounds.

Buna has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Coldspring-Oakhurst, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Buna will venture away from home to square off against Hardin at 12:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Coldspring-Oakhurst, they will host Crockett at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
