Softball Game Preview: Ore City Rebels vs. Harleton Wildcats

For the second straight game, Ore City will face off against Harleton. Ore City will venture away from home to challenge Harleton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Ore City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Ore City is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Harleton just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 6-5.

Jordan Johnson put in work while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Johnson wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Keylee Richardson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Richardson a new career-high in doubles (two). Kylieann Humphrey was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Ore City's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12-1. As for Harleton, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.
