Football Recap: Caldwell Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Caldwell lost against Ridgevue back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cougars were outmatched by the Warhawks and fell 56-15. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Zion Perrault threw for 125 yards and one touchdown.

Hunter Schmittel was a one-man wrecking crew For Ridgevue. as he threw for 241 yards and five TDs while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground. Cameron Johnson also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Ridgevue, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Caldwell will look to defend their home field on Friday against Wood River at 7:00 p.m. The Cougars will be up against the Wolverines' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Ridgevue, they will head out to face off against Vallivue at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
