Volleyball Recap: Philip Barbour Gets the Win

Philip Barbour won the last time they faced St. Albans and things went their way on Saturday too. The Colts walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Red Dragons. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Colts.

Izzy Knotts paced Philip Barbour's offense, picking up 17 kills. Knotts got some help from Finley Carpenter and her 15 assists.

Despite the defeat, St. Albans saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ellah Smith had five digs and three blocks. Smith is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bethany Farry, who had 13 kills.

Philip Barbour's win bumped their record up to 27-6-2. As for St. Albans, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-12.

Philip Barbour didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Winfield on the 4th. As for St. Albans, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Poca on the 4th.
