Whittier Christian entered their tilt with Village Christian on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp 17-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Heralds, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Whittier Christian let Joy Jung and Bella Perez run wild. Jung scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Perez went 1-for-2 with four RBI and two runs. Those two runs gave Jung a new career-high. Alyssa Lopez also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Whittier Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in eight consecutive games.

Whittier Christian pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Village Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, Whittier Christian will challenge Maranatha at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Maranatha has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 21.5 runs per game on average), something Whittier Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Village Christian, they will take on Heritage Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Village Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
