Basketball Recap: Carpinteria Warriors vs. Santa Ynez Pirates

Carpinteria lost against Santa Ynez back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Carpinteria Warriors took a hard 80-65 fall against the Santa Ynez Pirates. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Santa Ynez to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Skidmore, who went 7 of 16 en route to 17 points. Those 17 points gave Skidmore a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jude Pritchard, who posted 17 points and five rebounds.

Carpinteria's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Santa Ynez, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Carpinteria will challenge Santa Paula at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Santa Paula knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 contests -- so hopefully Carpinteria likes a good challenge. As for Santa Ynez, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-54 defeat against Bishop Diego on the 6th.
