Preview: Tri-Valley Titans vs. Horseshoe Bend Mustangs
Tri-Valley is 2-8 against Horseshoe Bend since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Tri-Valley Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Horseshoe Bend Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Tri-Valley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener back in November. They came out on top against Rimrock by a score of 50-38.
Horseshoe Bend has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 31 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 62-31 victory over Idaho City on the road. With Horseshoe Bend ahead 38-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Horseshoe Bend's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Layth Bromgard, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Bromgard's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Porter Larson, who scored 19 points along with 4 steals.
Tri-Valley's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Horseshoe Bend, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
Things could have been worse for Tri-Valley, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-36 loss to Horseshoe Bend when the teams last played back in January. Can Tri-Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
