Softball Recap: Owosso Beats Brandon for Their Third Straight Win

Owosso strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Brandon Blackhawks a 10-0 shutout. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blackhawks, too.

Hailie Caswell tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kylee Nesbit, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Nesbit is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Audri Hrncharik, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Owosso hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters every time they've taken the field this season.

Owosso's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Owosso will host Durand at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brandon, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Kearsley at 4:00 p.m.
