Softball Game Preview: Central Wolves vs. Mt. Pleasant Oilers

For the first time this season, Central will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to square off against the Mt. Pleasant Oilers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Central is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Garber on Thursday. They lost 21-0 to the Dukes. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Dukes recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Mt. Pleasant made sure to put some runs up on the board against Petoskey on Saturday. The Oilers walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Northmen.

Mt. Pleasant's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Central, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Central suffered a grim 12-5 defeat to Mt. Pleasant in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
