Basketball Recap: Make It 12 in a Row for Malta

Malta waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Choteau Bulldogs 63-33. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth in Montana, while the Bulldogs are ranked 68th in Montana), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Malta's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points over those games. As for Choteau, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.

Malta won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fairfield at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Choteau does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
