Baseball Game Preview: ED White Commanders vs. Riverside Generals

ED White is 1-9 against Riverside since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Commanders will host the Generals at 6:00 p.m. ED White is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

ED White will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Harvest Community, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Commanders were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Warriors on Monday.

Donny Moore was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-3. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Marion Laguerre, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

ED White always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 14-7 to Ribault.

Josh Skipper was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Adrian Gonzalez, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for ED White, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.

Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. ED White has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. However, it's not like Riverside struggles in that department as they've averaged .485. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

ED White suffered a grim 26-0 defeat to Riverside in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Commanders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
