Football Recap: Zion-Benton Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Zion-Benton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 40-21 to the Stevenson Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Zee-Bees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Patriots are ranked 69th).

Zion-Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Stevenson, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Zion-Benton will challenge Waukegan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Zee-Bees will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.57 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Stevenson, they will take on Lake Zurich at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Patriots 14.5, the Bears 9.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
