Volleyball Recap: El Dorado Springs' Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

El Dorado Springs had to endure a five-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Sherwood Marksmen on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

El Dorado Springs had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-14, 25-16, 25-19.

Kalen Post paced El Dorado Springs' offense, picking up 29 kills. Post got some help from Maddix Robison and her 39 assists. Post was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Despite the loss, Sherwood still got an impressive performance from Cooper McDonald, who had 17 assists and 16 digs. McDonald is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Mia Thomas also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

The win got El Dorado Springs back to even at 8-8-2. As for Sherwood, with the loss, they broke their four-match winning streak and moved their record to 7-3.
