Baseball Recap: Astronaut Comes Up Short

Astronaut and South Sumter squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Astronaut had to settle for second. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the War Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Astronaut saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Sargenti, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Astronaut's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for South Sumter, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-4.

While Astronaut had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
