Thornwood hadn't done well against Rich Township recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds blew past the Raptors 14-3. Considering the Thunderbirds have won 15 contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Thornwood is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.4 runs over those games. As for Rich Township, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-14.

Coming up, Thornwood will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Thornridge at 4:30 p.m. The Thunderbirds are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Rich Township, they will head out to face off against Crete-Monee at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raptors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
