Preview: Holy Cross Academy Mustangs vs. Wichita Christian Stars
After both having extra time off, the Holy Cross Academy Mustangs and the Wichita Christian Stars will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 5:00 p.m. on January 26th. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.
Two weeks ago, Holy Cross Academy had to suffer through a rough 70-43 loss at the hands of Accelerate Christian. Holy Cross Academy has struggled against Accelerate Christian recently, as their match two weeks ago was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Wichita Christian came up short against Accelerate Christian on January 5th and fell 43-32.
Holy Cross Academy's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Wichita Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Things could have been worse for Holy Cross Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-52 loss to Wichita Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2021. Can Holy Cross Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
