Basketball Recap: Churubusco Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Brooklyn Sinclair and Patty Wiggs

Churubusco lost against Angola back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the Churubusco Eagles and the Angola Hornets didn't end well, with the Churubusco Eagles falling 53-34.

Despite the defeat, Churubusco had strong showings from Patty Wiggs, who posted nine points and eight boards, and Brooklyn Sinclair, who earned eight points. Sinclair is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Angola's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bailey Holman led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, Holman also racked up four blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Stella Stockamp was another key player, going 5 for 9 on her way to 12 points and five boards.

Churubusco's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Angola, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Churubusco has already played their next contest, a 52-40 defeat against Central Noble on the 31st. As for Angola, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 45-37 victory against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger on the 25th.
