Softball Recap: Sonora Comes Up Short

Sonora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Hilmar Yellowjackets, falling 18-0. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Sonora's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Hilmar, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Sonora will face off against Summerville at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the Bears have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Hilmar, they will square off against Riverbank at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bruins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Yellowjackets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
