Volleyball Recap: Buchanan Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

With a playoff win on the line, Buchanan rose to the challenge on Saturday. They came out on top against the Del Oro Golden Eagles by a score of 3-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Bears, who have now won three contests in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 27-29, 25-18, 25-19.

Buchanan found their leader in sophomore Carlos Jay, who had 24 assists and four digs. Jay has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last ten times he's played.

Buchanan's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 30-16. As for Del Oro, they moved to 25-14 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Coming up, Buchanan will challenge Mater Dei at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Monarchs will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Bears surely won't give up without a fight. Del Oro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
