Softball Recap: Bakersfield Comes Up Short

Bakersfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Willow Springs Bears. The Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Bears from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Bakersfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Willow Springs, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-10 record.

Looking ahead, Bakersfield will square off against Pleasant Hope at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Willow Springs has already played their next contest (against Van Buren), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
