Softball Game Preview: Shawnee Braves vs. North Union Wildcats

For the second straight game, Shawnee will face off against North Union. The Braves will head out to take on the Wildcats at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Shawnee will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Shawnee's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over North Union.

Not much got past Alee Trimmer, who gave up just three hits and racked up 16 Ks to keep North Union off the board. Those 16 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Trimmer.

At the plate, Shawnee's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ava George, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Byanca Dubie was another, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base.

Shawnee's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for North Union, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.
