Recap: Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans vs. Denmark-Olar Vikings
The Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 78-58 defeat at the hands of Denmark-Olar. Ridge Spring-Monetta has not had much luck with Denmark-Olar recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Ridge Spring-Monetta still got an impressive performance from Tykeem Martin, who scored 19 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Martin scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was James Bosket, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Denmark-Olar's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Terrance Hinton, who scored 25 points along with seven assists and six steals. Hinton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tykeen Ross, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds.
Ridge Spring-Monetta has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Denmark-Olar, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Blackville-Hilda the next time they take the court. Denmark-Olar will host Blackville-Hilda at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Ridge Spring-Monetta will head out to face them at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
