Baseball Recap: Hannibal Wins Going Away Against Fabius Pompey

Hannibal's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Fabius Pompey Falcons as they made off with a 10-4 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Warriors needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Alex Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs.

In other batting news, Tyler Emmons was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Donald MacFarland also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Hannibal's record now sits at 4-2. As for Fabius Pompey, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hannibal will square off against Jordan-Elbridge at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Fabius Pompey, they will challenge Tully at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
